7th Infantry Division of the US Army. Followed by 8 yr. Army Reserve. Shirley Robert Schlintzl known as Bob Schlintz, was born on May 4, 1930 in La Crosse, Wisconsin. He graduated from High School in Bangor, Wisconsin. He entered the Army on Aug. 21, 1951. Bob was in the 7th Infantry Division. He served in the Korean War. While serving he was awardeed the Combat Infantry Badge, the United Nations Metal, the Korean Service Metal, the Bronze Service Star, and the National Defense Metal. He received an Honorable Discharge on April 11, 1953 and served eight years in the Army Reserve. Bob was married to Ivonne Silbaugh on Aug. 21, 1954. They had three children, Scott, Pamela, and Brian. Bob attended La Crosse State College on the G.I. Bill and graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in 1957. He was a member of the Ka[[a Gamma Chapter of the Alpha Phi Omega National Service Fraternity. Bob earned a Master of Science Degree from Winona State College, Winona, Minn. in 1962. He taught for six years in the Eau Claire public schools, was an elementary school principal for two years in New Glarus, Wis. and was an elementary principal in West Allis, Wis. for twenty two years. Bob died on May 5, 2009.
