Richard E. Rothwell, husband, father and grandfather was a loving man, life coach and an excellent provider. He took the time to instill self-reliance in his children and grandchildren. He was the type of person who didn't demand respect; it was freely given to him.
He retired from the Army National Guard as a 1st Sgt E8 after 20 years of service which included serving at Fort Lewis, WA and mobilization for the Berlin Crisis from 10/15/61- 8/10/62.
His hobbies included deer hunting, fishing, woodworking, handyman projects and organizing family outings.
He was a proud member of both the American Legion Post 416 and its Firing Squad.
He had an unparalleled work ethic and retired from Bucyrus Erie in South Milwaukee, WI after 43 years.
Throughout his life he made sure to spend fun quality time with his children and grandchildren. This included family vacations at the lake in Eagle River, WI and weekly Legion bingo with the grandchildren followed by fun activities of the grandchildren's choosing. Family meant everything to him; his hometown of Viroqua, WI was visited frequently.
