I'm from Hurley, Wisconsin and was drafted in 1959. I took my basic training at Fort Hood, Texas and advanced training at Fort Bliss Texas. I was sent overseas in 1960 and worked as a military police K-9 officer on Okinawa for eighteen months and was discharged in 1962. My duties were to patrol an underground missile site with an attack sentry dog.
