Completed Basic Training at Lackland AFB, Texas and Ground Communications Equipment Repairman School at Scott AFB, Illinois. Was assigned to the Pacific Air Command and spent three years, four months, 22 days in Japan, Korea, Okinawa, and the Philippines working on Air and Airways Communications Systems: primarily on installation of Control Towers and Radar Approach Control Systems. Received the Good Conduct Medal and the Korean Defense Service Medal.
